Who Are We and What Do We Do??

•  Whether you are going out of town or just working late, our services are designed to meet you and your pet's needs.

•  We are insured, bonded and incorporated.

•  We have been in business over 15 years.

•  We are members of C.A.R.E. (Companion Animal Rescue and Education), a non-profit animal welfare organization which rescues and fosters abandoned cats and dogs, traps feral cats to spay or neuter, offers a low cost spay and neuter program, and works to adopt cats and dogs into lifetime loving homes.

•  We are members of Pet Sitters International and the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters.

•  We are recommended by veterinarians in the Jersey City/ Bayonne/ Hoboken area.

•  We have six cats of our own, as well as two Basset Hounds, two ferrets, a cockatiel bird and a turtle. We love and treat our own pets as our children and do the same for our clients. We've always had a special relationship with animals and feel like we are kindred spirits.

•  We can administer medication, insulin shots, and IV subcutaneous fluids to pets.

•  We do not provide services for aggressive animals and/ or those which have a history of biting.

•  We do not encourage job sharing (splitting dog walking or pet sitting responsibilities with other services, friends or relatives).

How Do We Do Business

•  We will set up an initial interview with you and your pet so we can meet and get to know each other. We also want to learn where you keep all your pet's suppliesÛsuch as his or her leash, food, treats, litter box, medication, and any extras we might need.

•  We offer a ready key program that enables us to keep your house keys on file. If allowed by your building's management, the keys can also be left in your lobby with the concierge.

•  We will not let anyone else in your home, including friends, repairmen, or delivery people.

•  Happy Hounds & Cozy Critters works as a team. If ever an emergency delays your normal dog walker or pet sitter, another fully trained staff member is always available to care for your pet. We offer reliable coverage 365 days a year. We are also available on holidays for an additional $5.00 surcharge per visitÛbut we require reservations in advance.

•  Clients must agree to cover any medical costs incurred that are not covered by our medical insurance if their dog or cat causes any injury, such as a bite or scratch, to employees of Happy Hounds & Cozy Critters while in our care.
