C.A.R.E (Companion Animal Rescue & Education) is an all-volunteer, non-profit corporation formaed by concerned animal lovers. We are a pet adoption agency, finding lifetime, loving homes for cats & dogs.

C.A.R.E provides the public with education, awareness, rescue and placement of companion animals.  They promote spay/neuter, responsible care and lifetime commitment. 

Through our work with other groups and the community, we strive to end the killing of unwanted animals.

Cat Care

•  We will provide fresh food and water for your pet and will scoop or change the litter box to make it fresh and clean.

•  We never let cats outside, even if the owner requests it. This is to keep your cat safe and healthy, as well as for liability purposes.

•  We believe that cats should be kept in their own environment. We will come and brush and groom you cat and spend time or play with him or her. If you wish, we will also pick up your mail.

Dog Walking

•  We provide morning, midday, dinner, or bedtime walks to assist busy professionals. Because everyone's needs are different, we will walk your dog when the time is best for you and your pet. If you must work late, or have evening or weekend hours, we'll be there for you.

•  During our visits with your dog, we will also give him or her food and water while providing lots of love and kisses when you can't be home.

•  Our services are great for puppies and elderly dogs who need not only extra playtime, companionship and exercise, but also to go outside more often.

•  We do not group or pack walks. We walk one dog at a time, unless you have multiple dogs, to keep your pet safe. This also provides more quality time for your pet.

•  We always walk your dog on a leash to keep him or her safe and to comply with your city or town's leash laws.

•  After we have spent time with your pet, we will leave you a note letting you know what your dog did outside. We'll also let you know if we notice any unusual behavior in your pet. This provides constant communication between you and our staff and allows you to always know what is going on with your pet. This is especially great for puppy training!

•  If you are going to be away for a few days, we can come and take care of your house as well as your pet. We can bring in your mail or newspaper and take out your trash or recyclables, all at no extra cost. We'll also feed and walk your pet on his usual schedule.

•  We prefer to care for your dog in his or her own environment, where things are familiar and comfortable. However, if we already care for your dog and if he or she is well-behaved, updated on all shots, in good health, and gets along well with other dogs and cats, he is welcome to stay with us at our home. We are not a kennel, though, so we cannot take on a lot of dogs in our homeóso we ask for reservations for this special service. In our home, your dog will have 24-hour a day care and will be extremely pampered. We will walk your dog with our dogs 4-5 times a day, feed him or her the food you provide, and will give him lots of playtime and love.
